Coterie’s The Diaper is the best pick for a baby with sensitive skin. Its page lists all 18 materials in the diaper by name, from the absorbent polymer to the pigments, so you can check it against anything your baby has reacted to. Coterie also says the diaper is made without fragrance, lotion, latex or parabens. Dyper’s diapers are the runner-up. They name their components rather than every material, and they carry the longest free-of list here. Honest’s Clean Conscious Diapers come third, because the page lists features and no materials at all. None of the three publishes the skin test it mentions, and Runlow has not tested any of them.

Every value is from the manufacturer's own site and is sourced and dated beneath each pick below. "Not published" means the brand's own page lists no ingredients; "None claimed" means it names no certification; "Not yet checked" means we haven't read it. A certification is the brand's claim unless its row says otherwise.

What makes a diaper suit sensitive skin?

On a page, the useful signs are a material list you can read and a plain statement of what’s left out. Every brand here uses words like “hypoallergenic” or “designed for sensitive skin.” FDA’s page on hypoallergenic cosmetics says there are “no Federal standards or definitions that govern the use of the term,” and that it “means whatever a particular company wants it to mean.” That page covers cosmetics. Diapers aren’t cosmetics, and none of the three diaper pages defines the word or publishes the test behind it.

A list is the part you can act on. If your baby has reacted to a fragrance, a lotion or latex, a page that names each one as left out tells you more than one that says “gentle.” Every record here is Size 1. Diaper Sizes Go by Weight, Not Age covers how to choose the size, and the Diapers Calculator estimates how many a box lasts.

Our pick: Coterie The Diaper

Coterie

Coterie The Diaper, Size 1

diaper · 198 count

Coterie publishes the most complete list of the three. The page names 18 materials in label order, starting with sodium polyacrylate, the absorbent polymer, and ending with two pigments. It says the diaper is “Total Chlorine Free (TCF), with no added fragrance, parabens, latex, or lotions,” and made “without colorful designs or scents.”

None claimed by the brand

Coterie's own page for Coterie The Diaper, Size 1 names no certification. The page names no certification from Runlow's list; it says the diaper "adheres to the EDANA Stewardship Programme Standard" and is made without "3900+ ingredients of concern."

Sourcecoterie.comChecked Oct 19, 2026

One caveat. The skin claim is the brand’s own. Coterie says the materials that touch skin are “dermatologist-tested and proven hypoallergenic” and that the diaper was “3rd party lab tested in Germany,” and the page doesn’t publish either test. It names no certification from the bodies Runlow tracks.

Runner-up: Dyper Diapers

Dyper

Dyper Diapers, Size 1

diaper · 36 count

Dyper’s free-of list is the longest here. The page says the diapers have “no added fragrance” and names lotion, latex, rubber, dyes, alcohol, parabens, phthalates, pesticides, chlorine bleaching, VOCs and optical brighteners as left out too. It lists the diaper by component, such as a bamboo viscose liner and a breathable film, rather than by every chemical name.

Ingredients

IngredientWhat it does
Sodium polyacrylate (SAP) and pulp"Absorbent core made of sodium polyacrylate (SAP) and pulp from sustainably managed forests," per manufacturer; the page says the core gives "up to 12 hours of leak protection (with FSC certified™ chlorine-free pulp)"

It sits second because the component list says less than Coterie’s material list. “Adhesives” and “elastics” each appear as one entry, with no material named. Dyper calls the diapers “Hypoallergenic, clinically tested, 5-Star Dermatest® Approved,” and the page doesn’t publish that test either.

Also consider: Honest Clean Conscious Diapers

Honest

Honest Clean Conscious Diapers, Size 1, Super Club Box

diaper · 136 count

Honest names a third-party standard. The page says “Honest Diapers are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 Certified – 3rd party tested for 350 harmful chemicals,” and calls the diaper “designed to protect delicate skin.” Size 1 has an umbilical cut-out, per the page.

Certifications

It sits third because the page lists five features, such as a “plant based inner liner,” and no materials. It makes no fragrance statement either way. The OEKO-TEX claim couldn’t be checked, because the page prints no certificate number for the label’s own lookup.

What to watch for

A diaper isn’t the only thing touching that skin. A diaper cream and the wipes you use are the other two. Best Diaper Cream for Sensitive Skin and Best Baby Wipes for Sensitive Skin compare those on the same terms. A search of the National Eczema Association’s product directory for each brand on October 20 turned up Coterie and Honest wipes and creams, and none of the diapers here.

How we researched this

Every product fact in this guide comes from each brand’s own product page, read on the date each record shows. The note on the word “hypoallergenic” comes from FDA’s page on hypoallergenic cosmetics. Nothing was taken from a retailer listing or a review. Runlow has not tested any of these diapers and makes no claim about how any of them affects a baby’s skin. No prices are shown.
